As we got to the end of the Acclaimed Music list, I wrote about Bob Dylan three times in two months and The Beatles four times in a little over two months which was fine, but it all felt a bit similar as we raced towards the conclusion. As a result, I’ve decided that there should be a twenty-five-post buffer between artists appearing to keep things fresh for you and me. In practice, this self-imposed ban means I couldn’t write about Pink Floyd as the next entry after this one, as there’d be 24 posts between appearances, but I could in two entries time. A further addition to this will be that for artists who’ve featured three times or more already, that buffer will be 50 entries. So there will be no potential for Dylan, The Beatles, Radiohead or The Rolling Stones to appear this side of May.
I have been discussing with a few other music Substackers on guest posts whether those will be a total handing over of The Run Out Grooves’ pen or Substack’s newish ability to cross-post directly from another writer’s newsletter is up for grabs. I’m certainly interested in hosting anyone who isn’t a Substacker and wants to write a guest post for the site or any persons of note who want to add insight on their own closing tracks in an interview or essay format. I am all ears. Likewise, anyone who fancies chatting about some of their favourite album closers should get in touch too!
